ABOUT STEVEN
Steven has worked as an artist for over 25 years, his love of wildlife developed from an early age being fortunate to live in a rural setting in South Wales. His father would take him on adventures to the coast and surrounding woodlands, and at the same time he displayed a keen interest in drawing. It wasn't long before the two interests came together and sparked a desire to bring his ideas to life. Now a highly acclaimed and recognized by galleries, critics and fellow artists for his contemporary use of traditional materials. His work is privileged to be included into the prestigious permanent collection at the Nature In Art Museum in Gloucester. His association with the museum has seen him become their artist in residence several times and in 1998 he was voted wildlife artist of the year by the museum and fellow artists. This success led to an invitation to travel to Zimbabwe to produce artwork that was auctioned to raise funds and awareness for an endangered antelope, he has continued to help with fundraising through his work.
